Service details of Photoduplication
Type of services
The following types are available in the Kansai-kan.
- Self-service photoduplication
- Same-day photoduplication
- Later date photoduplication (sent by mail)
- Printouts of electronic materials
Please note that the service hours, copying fees and duplicable materials vary for each type of service. For details, please inquire at the Photoduplication Counter.

Self-service photoduplication
You can operate the photocopier yourself.
Color copying is not available. You can request color copying service in Same-day photoduplication or Later date photoduplication.
Some materials cannot be accepted owing to the condition of them or for other reasons.
- * In order to ensure that the requirements of the Copyright Law are filled, the library staff will confirm your requests before and after your copying.
- * This service is only for those who come to the Kansai-kan in person.
- Requests accepted -- 9:30-17:30, maximum of five volumes at once
- Receiving copies -- 9:30-17:50
Requesting the service
- You need have the material at hand. When you wish to have the materials in the closed stacks copied, first make a request for on-site reading and receive the material at the Circulation Counter. (Official Registered Users only)
- Confirm and specify the portion you wish to have copied.
- Using the computer terminals in the Reading Room, enter the necessary information in accordance with the instructions displayed on the screen, and print out the photoduplication request form.
- Fill out other necessary information in the column inside the thick lines on the photoduplication request form. Be sure to write the call number and the title of the material.
- Take your user card, material and the photoduplication request form to the Photoduplication Counter.
- After the confirmation of the request, the library staff will give you the key counter of the copier in exchange for your user card.
Copying and paying the copying fee
Insert the key counter into the copier located in the reading room and make copies.
After copying the material, take the copies, the key counter and the photoduplication request form to the cashier in the Photoduplication Counter. The library staff will check it and input the number of copies. Your user card will be returned to you in exchange for the key counter.
Please pay the copying fee to the cashier in the Photoduplication Counter.
Same-day photoduplication
Copies will be made by the library staff. You will receive the copies on the day you make the request. You must stay in the library until you receive the copies.
- Requests accepted -- 9:30-17:00, maximum of 200 pages at once
- Receiving copies -- 9:30-17:50
- Waiting time -- 40 minutes or more
Requesting the service
- You need have the material at hand. When you wish to have the materials in the closed stacks copied, first make a request for on-site reading and receive the material at the Circulation Counter. (Official Registered Users only)

In the case of a paper material, insert bookmarks at the start and the end of the portion you wish to have copied.

- Fill out other necessary information in the column inside the thick lines on the photoduplication request form. Be sure to write the call number and the title of the material.
- Take your user card, the material and the photoduplication request form to the Photoduplication Counter.
- A copy claim slip will be handed at the counter.
Receiving the copies and paying the copying fee
When your copies are ready, the computer terminal you have loged in shows the message.
Please go to the cashier in the Photoduplication Counter with your user card and the copy claim slip to receive the copies and the material.
Please pay the copying fee to the cashier in the Photoduplication Counter.
Later date photoduplication (sent by mail)
* Copies will be made by the library staff. The copies will be mailed to the address you specify.
- Requests accepted -- 10:00-17:45, limitless pages
- Date -- copies can be mailed after 3 days (library holidays excluded)

Receiving the copies and paying the copying fee
The copies will be mailed to the destination specified at the time of request.
Shipping and packing fee will be charged in addition to the copying fee; the invoice and a money transfer form will be enclosed with the copies.
Printouts of electronic materials
You can printout electronic materials. (Note, however, some materials cannot be printed.) And microfilms and microfiches are also available for printout by the digital microreader. (Official Registered Users only)
After ordering printouts at the computer terminals in the Reading Room by yourself, you will receive the printouts at the Photoduplication Counter. You will receive the printouts on the same day you make the request.

Receiving the printouts and paying the copying fee
Confirm your request on the PC screen at the Photoduplication Counter. You will get the printouts after the library staff check and count them.
Please pay the copying fee to the cashier in the Photoduplication Counter.
