Cataloging Tools and Resources

Operational Regulations for Nippon Cataloging Rules comprises detailed instructions for applying the Nippon Cataloging Rules (NCR) at the NDL. We started application of NCR 2018 in 2021. For a chronological list of revisions, please refer to "History of Applied Rules" (in Japanese).

• Nippon Cataloging Rules 2018 Edition (in Japanese)

Although the NDL has adopted NCR2018 in principle, some changes have been made to parts of the NCR. Please refer to the Operational Regulations for NCR for details.

"Part 1: General Introduction" and "Part 2: Attributes" (Materials)

"Part 1: General Introduction" provides general information about NCR2018.

"Part 2: Attributes" addresses the "Recording of Attributes" and "Construction of Access Points".
