Kikuo Furuno, a journalist of the Burajiru Jiho (Brazil Times) newspaper was asked to edit Japanese language textbooks by the Association for the Spread of Japanese Education in Brazil in 1935. The association edited and published Japanese language reading books and teacher’s guidebooks with the permission of the state authority which had been given with the help of attached Poruguese translations between 1936 and 1937. This is an excerpt of the story from the edition reprinted by the Parmital Young Men's Association which was adapted for Japanese children in Brazil from the Japanese moral training textbook story about a trumpeter Kohei Kiguchi.
